Shankar Ehsan Loy
Whenever Shankar-Ehsan-Loy have composed for Karan Johar's films, they have come up with something special and they continue the same trend in this soundtrack. There is a strong Sufi musical influence on this album, which is really melodious and soulful.
The album begins with a Sufi devotional qawwali Sajda, which is beautifully rendered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and Richa Sharma. Then Shankar teams up with Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghoshal for Noor-E-Khuda, a soft classy philosophical ballad, musing on the workings of the Almighty.
Another catchy qawwali is later unleashed in Tere Naina but it is steeped in romance. This stylish number rendered by Shafqat Amanat Ali is likely to be the main chart-buster from this album. The devotional flavour returns back with fervour through another Sufi qawwali Allah Hi Rehem (Rashid Khan). The next track Rang De (Shankar, Suraj Jagan) is a soft rock-styled song with a theme of peace and harmony. To add to all these melodies, Pakistani band Strings compose a contemplative instrumental theme.
