Atif Aslam’s edgy piercing vocals have already made quite an impression on Indian sub-continental pop music scene.  In his latest album, Atif spares no effort to show off his versatility.  Nostalgia about lost love seems to be the central theme. The pure rock-styled songs Yaaro, Hangami Halat and Kinara and Sufi-rock styled Mae Ne and Rabba Sacheya may appeal only to a certain sub-section of listeners. But Atif is much more appealing when he decides to opt for softer romantic or contemplative ballads and duets such as Meri Kahani, Humrahi, Kaun Tha, Joug and Chhod Gaye.
