Behind a successful Hindi film is usually a successful soundtrack and Sajid-Wajid’s music in this superhit Salman Khan-film proves that rule. Going with the film’s Uttar Pradesh-based story-line, the music uses UP-folk-style to great effect in robust rhythmic numbers like the crackerjack item-song Munni Badnam Huyi (Mamta- Shaima- Aishwarya) , catchy title-song Hud Hud Dabangg (Sukhvinder Singh- Wajid) and a tacky party-song ‘Humka Peeni Hai’ (Wajid-Salim-Shabbir Kumar).  Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Tere Mast Mast Do Nain and Sonu Nigam – Shreya Ghoshal’s Chori Kiya Re are nice soft romantic tracks.
