What’s the plot?

A London Film School graduate (Suniel Shetty) comes to Mumbai to make a film on a serious theme – a story of a journalist who gets raped while probing a medicine-scam. With the help of his childhood friend (Rajpal Yadav), a struggling actor trying to find a foothold in the film- industry, the aspiring writer-director tries to convince various established film-makers to back his project. Finally when he finds a backer (Rakesh Bedi), an industry veteran but a first-time producer, his film starts moving but on a path he has never imagined!

What’s hot?

Some good inside dope about the way the ‘industry’ operates. Rakesh Bedi delivers a good performance as a long-time poster-publicity guy trying his hand as a producer.

What’s not?

Poor development of the plot/ characters; overall mediocre performances; amateurish direction

Verdict

The film does generate a few genuine smiles with some insightful observations on Bollywood’s quirky ways but lacks substantial cinematic material to go beyond that. The directorial treatment is confused and the experienced cast miserably fails as an acting unit.
