This week's box office saw the openings of three Bollywood movies - Ishkq In Paris, Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke and Zindagi 50-50. Unfortunately, all the three movies opened to a very poor start.
The romantic love story of Ishkq is Ishkq In Paris, which saw the comeback of Preity Zinta on the big screen, didn't quite live up to any expectations and had a disastrous start. The movie also starred French actress Isabelle Adjani and newcomer Rhehan Malliek.
The movie occupied only 5 to 10 percent of the multiplexes across the country, which is very less considering the hype surrounding the film since a year. The movie opened to just 40 lakhs on it's first day at the box office.
The movie is produced by Preity Zinta herself and Neelu Zinta and has been written and directed by Prem Raj. The original release date of the movie was on September 21, 2012 but got postponed! Audio was released on T-Series and the music was composed by Sajid-Wajid.
Whereas the other movie, Zindagi 50-50 starring Veena Malik and Riya Sen opened to a meagre Rs. 10 lakh and crashed badly at the box office. Not that the movie was expected to be a hit and the same goes for the third release of the week, Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke.
Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke starred Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher, Juhi Chawla, Dev Goel and Adah Sharma. The movie had a fair bit of hype and limelight due to Sanjay Dutt's controversial saga but maybe the controversies had a bad influence which affected the box office terribly. All the Dhamaal series fans had some expectations from the film which did a business of 20 lakhs on it's first day!
This week, the theatres would go empty but next week with the release of Ranbir Kapoor's Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, we hope it rocks the box office in terms of business!
